capt's kevin and dave took bill shaunessy of ambler pa and friends out on an overnighter aug 21/22. we got knocked around all day sunday and inti the wee hours on monday morning, thanks noaa. we landed three yellowfins, some mahi, and some tiles. but the highlight of the trip was a visit from the man in the blue suit. he knocked down one of our skipper rods and kevin quickly fed him a flat line bait and it was a text book drop back and it was game on. we backed down for over an hour and the boys passed the rod like a spliff at a marley concert, but in the end we had a release of a 350-400 lb blue marlin, our first of 2017. the guys were great and had an awesome experience to say the least.
capt's kevin and dave had our good friends from lancaster county back out for their annual trip. we had a tough trip , landing three yellowfins to 50 pounds and releasing a legal mako. we also caught some blue sharks as well.
we hosted the leach family on august 13/14 and on our way offshore we stopped midshore and released two bluefins before pushing to the deep. we released several tiger sharks to 700 lbs at night. back on the troll in the morning ashley landed our only yellowfin of the trip. we were amazed at the passion these folks had for fishing and made a new friend in chef casey, who put a hurtin on big sharks and provided great food.
capt's kevin and dave took long time customer tony locantore along with the two bills and bob gray on an overnighter august 11/12. we suggested to tony to rebook due to the slow tuna bite but he wanted to take his chances. bottom line, we went one for six on white marlin but had at least a dozen bites. we never saw a tuna and caught hammerheads at night. as usual the two bills stayed up all night and caught squid and assisted in anyway they could.
capt's kevin and dave took brian paradine of pearl river ny on an overnighter aug 9/10. we went two for five on yellowfins and caught about 15 tiles. not what we had hoped for, but the guys already booked for next year.
capt's kevin and dave took bill borse and friends of bucks county out for their first canyon trip on august 4/5. we trolled four yellowfins before we set up for a most uneventful night and back on the troll in the morning we got a visit from our forst white marlin of the season. we got a clean release and also caught two more yellowfin and a gaffer mahi. the guys had a great time and went home with plenty of meat. capt kevin prepared some sushi for the boys on the way home.
