capt's jimmy gahm and sean carton took jamie borenios of emerson,nj and friends out on an overnighter. jamie is a huge fan of shimano butterfly jigging and after a slammin trip this august there was no question that we would stop short to try for some bluefins. the guys had several fish on and boated an under fish right away, after releasing many more they had an over fish on but lost it. after a few hours it was off to the hudson, up on the troll they had a few mahi bites and a few white marlin in the spread, but as usual, they came unglued. the chunk was surprisingly good as the guys boated 13 yellowfins to 70lbs as well as a small swordfish. the majority of fish were caught on the butterfly jigs as well as our first jigged swordfish on the jenny lee. the guys decided not to troll in the morning, but to stop back on the bluefin grounds. upon arrival they jigged hard as they always do and were rewarded with three fish within a half hour. it was an awesome trip for jamie and the guys, well deserved for sure.
